I came across this interesting perspective on the cost of replacing a staff member. Firms invest huge amounts of money in HR initiatives to recruit the best personnel, but seem to forget to look after those staff once in the company. Employees need much more than just a salary. Being a contribution, being recognised, supported appreciated and being given the opportunity to make a difference; are the most commonly cited aspects lacking in the corporate environment. Investing in staff to generate and foster the right attitude will give you a far greater ROI then constant hiring and firing.

Daryl and Ivan recently completed their first Olympic distance triathlon in the outskirts of Moscow. The weather can only be described as terribly British.
